In 4 of the trials, positive effects were observed following homeopathic treatments, for example a reduction in inflammation of the mouth induced by chemotherapy. The other 4 trials, however, reported negative results.

Lapataiga! Caution is advised with natural health products, especially if they claim to lead to remission. By way of example, we can mention the Beljanski products, the Hoxsey formula, the Essiac formula and 714-X. For now, it is not known whether these approaches are effective and safe given the few clinical trials they have undergone. To find out more about these products, we invite you to get information from official organizations, such as the Canadian Cancer Society, which publishes a 250-page document describing some sixty alternative treatments.67 or the National Cancer Institute.
