Faʻafefea ona gaʻo pai ma falaoa

Beautiful, ruddy, shiny and such fragrant pies and buns will not leave anyone indifferent. They always look perfect and appetizing in shops and bakeries, but how can you achieve such an effect at home? It’s very simple, we will teach!

1. The egg. To add shine to the surface of pies and buns – use an egg. Beat it with a fork with a pinch of salt and apply with a soft brush to the products before baking.

2. Lanu… The yolk mixed with milk or cream will give the crust a more intense and ruddy color. Take a 1: 1 ratio, mix and apply to the surface of the products before baking.

3. Polotini… Simply use a fork to shake the egg whites and coat the patties before baking. But keep in mind that the protein, although it will add shine to your baked goods, will make the crust brittle.

4. Sweet water. If, suddenly, you do not have an egg, sweet water will do. Dissolve sugar in a little water and after the products are baked, directly on the hot ones, apply sweet water with a brush on top.

5. Oil. To give a ruddy color, baked goods are greased with vegetable or melted butter before baking. You will not achieve a glossy shine, but a ruddy crust is guaranteed. Milk will give the same result.

6. Strong tea… Brew black, strong and, of course, sweet tea. You will be surprised, but if you smear the products with tea before baking, the crust will be incredibly shiny and ruddy.
