How to choose a shower cabin

It may seem that buying a shower cabin is simple – you come to the store, choose the model that you can afford, and install it. But this plumbing equipment has a lot of nuances. Even within the same price category, there are better and mediocre models. We will tell you what to look for when choosing.

They are easier to install, provided that you accurately calculated everything during the repair. In fact, such a cabin is a drain ladder in the floor and a screen that is attached to the wall. Enclosed cabs are one-piece structures. They may have a dome on top or free space. Mixer and shower head are mounted in the rear wall of the cabin. Most often they are already included in the kit. If you suddenly choose a special watering can, for example, a colored one, or you need a faucet (there may not be one in the shower), you will have to compromise with your desires.

On sale there are cabins, which are called shower boxes. They have a deep tray, you can even take a bath in it. In fact, this is a “2 in 1” – a bath and a shower. And two people can stand freely in them. Some models have a reclining seat or just a niche in which you can sit.

Consider when choosing opening method: if you have a small bathroom, then sliding doors are preferable. If there is a lot of space and you have a design bathroom project, then you should take a closer look at the hinged ones.

Glass doors, despite their name, are made not only from glass. The most budgetary are plastic partitions. It is also an option for those who cannot stand the sight of water stains. Just choose matte plastic – dried drops are almost invisible on it. The obvious disadvantage is the aesthetic component. Since this is often a model from the “economy” category, the quality of the plastic will be mediocre.
