Pulu paʻu e oʻo atu i le 1000 rubles, iloiloga

The editorial staff of Woman’s Day, in anticipation of the first cold weather, is going to replace summer care with nutrition and compact powders. It turns out that there are many cool options among the mass market!

Pupa, Luminys powder, 750 rubles

– I already once talked about my disdain for powders (read here).

Due to dry skin, I used only tonal foundations, and only moisturizing ones, but after meeting the loose powder from Chanel Vitalumière, my world turned upside down! It turns out that cosmetics manufacturers have learned to create dry powders for the most demanding skin types. Pupa Luminys was next on the test list.

Tulaga faʻatalitali: The most unpleasant thing about compact powders for me has always been dry skin after application. Most products are uneven and will accentuate flakiness unless you have an oily skin type.

Moni: the first minus of the compact powder is its bulkiness. Such a product cannot always be at hand if you go with small clutches and cross-body. The manufacturers promised that thanks to the unique baking technology, the powder would be easily spread over the face, and they did not cheat! I didn’t even need my favorite beauty blender: the sponge included in the kit did a wonderful job.

Luminys is not a matte powder, but a tool with a small shimmer, which, without a huge cosmetic bag of products, will help you create a makeup fashionable this season – strobing.

Having met Pupa Luminys a few months ago, I learned that it turns out that you can live without foundation and create the perfect tone in a minute.

Faʻavasegaina: 9 o le 10 togi. The only drawback is the non-compactness of the tool. But Pupa Luminys has shown excellent durability, so in principle it is possible to avoid making adjustments during the day.

Mary Kay golden powder, 720 rubles

– As never before, the powder of a dark shade of the Mary Kay brand fell into my hands. Returning from hot countries with a tanned face, I just needed this tool. But usually I prefer lighter colors.

Tulaga faʻatalitali: An unpleasant surprise in the golden powder from Mary Kay was that she was wearing a shimmer. And this means that after application, the face looks like I was going to perform on stage: it shines and shines. But I think it will be fine for the evening.

The manufacturer also says the effect will be “brilliant”. In the truest sense of the word, apparently. After using the product, the face looks like you’ve just returned from the beach! They promise that the powder will create a natural sun shine, add warmth to any complexion, and at the same time will not dry out the skin. And will not collect in wrinkles and pores of the face.

Moni: in general, it really fits well and is not going anywhere. But the product is clearly not for me. I do not like it when there is so much gloss on the face, and the compact powder, in my opinion, is inconvenient because there is no sponge to apply. But in general, the tool is quite good in its characteristics. Lasts a long time, did not renew makeup throughout the day. So this powder will not let down lovers of everything shiny. And I will leave it, perhaps, for an evening out.

Iloiloga: 7 out of 10 points. I give the product only 7 points for the absence of a sponge and an overly strong gloss, unsuitable for daytime makeup.

Matting powder L’Oreal Infaillible, 781 rubles

– Compact powder is on the list of my personal must-haves. I use little decorative cosmetics: only mascara, eyebrow shadows, sometimes eye shadows. I can’t do without powder at all, especially in autumn and winter. I have very sensitive skin with enlarged pores and capillaries. I prefer to hide these small imperfections precisely with the help of a compact powder, since I do not like the effect of the mask and the feeling of something foreign on the face after using the foundation.

Faamoemoega: from the long-lasting matting powder L’Oreal Infaillible, I expected a good even coverage, masking imperfections and at the same time weightlessness. The manufacturer promises that the powder will help create the perfect matte skin without a mask effect. At the same time, the description also says that it performs all the declared functions within 24 hours.

Moni: powder L’Oreal really turned out to be quite good. Especially for your money. She has created a natural, very light coverage on the skin – no “puff pie” effect! The product mattes well, but, unfortunately, it was not enough for 24 hours. The skin begins to shine a little after three to four hours. I really liked that the powder did not clog the pores and did not cause any rashes on the face. In addition, she really visually made the skin smoother, hiding imperfections well. The only drawback of the product is the sponge that is included in the kit. It is thin and of poor quality. I had to replace it with what remained from the Shiseido Pureness powder. By the way, it was perfect for application and fit into a powder box.

Faʻatulagaina: 10 i fafo mai 10. Excellent powder in every way. Even with a bad sponge.

Artdeco, powder High Definition Compact Powder, about 700 rubles

– I rarely use compact powder. I find this product useless for my skin prone to dryness. By the evening, the powder is erased, and you have to correct the makeup again, and in the autumn and spring, it causes peeling. So I prefer light foundation fluids or BB creams. But on the instructions of the editorial board, I decided to test the novelty from Artdeco.

Faamoemoega: I expect a good texture from a powder that evens out the complexion without clogging pores or causing flaking. And also endurance. I would like to apply the product in the morning and forget about makeup until late at night. Let’s see if High Definition Compact Powder, Artdeco will cope with my wishes.

Moni: in general, the powder turned out to be quite good. But there are also disadvantages.

So, I applied the powder with a sponge, which is in the package, and was satisfied. The texture, as promised by the manufacturer, turned out to be incredibly light and pleasant. During the day I did not feel it on the skin. She, like a cream, instantly absorbed and evened out the tone.

However, towards evening I still remembered about the powder. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I noticed peeling. But perhaps this is due to my skin type.

Faʻatulagaina: 8 i fafo mai 10. Failed endurance.

Avon: Luxe Pressed Powder Fair Silk, 569 рублей

– I am wary of mass-market cosmetics. For me, this is not the way to use the word “beauty” and the expression “cheap and cheerful” in one sentence. Yet even here there is a caveat. It often turns out that inexpensive cosmetics are in no way inferior in properties to elite ones. The Avon “Luxe” line is just one of them.

Faamoemoega: the creators of the Luxe powder assure that the sapphire extract, which is part of the product, gives the skin a fresh and natural look. Well, personally, I am looking forward to the opportunity to quickly mask skin imperfections without the effect of a mask on the face.

Moni: tests of compact powder fell on hard working days. Lack of sleep, bruises under the eyes, fatigue … Week free from make up. All the better. I come to work, convulsively open the box of powder, for a couple of minutes and … No, I did not turn into a beautiful princess, but the tone of my face was evened out, the swelling on my face was masked. Smooth natural color. And so on until the end of the day. I would say: “Perfect!” True, there is a small “but”. Personally, I smell cosmetics very subtly. So after applying, I felt that there was powder on my face. And in the evening a feeling of tightness was added.

Faʻatulagaina: 7 i fafo mai 10. An excellent powder at an affordable price when used in combination with a moisturizer and / or foundation.

L’Etoile: Decollete Perfection de la peau nue, 749 rubles

– With powders, everything is complicated for me: I can’t wear them! It seems as if together with the powder I bring home all the dust collected during the day on my face in the evening. I wash my face with a peculiar frenzy. But even without a concealer it is impossible – I will not call my skin velvet, alas. Therefore, first of all, I appreciate the lightness of texture in powders, so that it is weightless on the skin. So far, only one decorative means of an expensive brand has coped with this task. Let’s see what you can profit from in a more democratic segment.

Tulaga faʻatalitali: most of all I am afraid of the dense layer on the face, when you seem to be wearing a mask. I feel like I’m losing the ability to breathe under this makeup. Therefore, I expect airiness, but at the same time a camouflage effect too. L’Etoile promises me a nude skin effect combined with an even tone that natural pearls should provide. Sounds tempting.

Moni: the first thing I felt when I opened the powder was the smell of spring. My friend, sniffing at the air, winced: “Smells like mimosa!” In my opinion, this is the perfect association for this time of year. Honestly, there is nothing especially to paint here: the texture is quite pleasant, it is easily applied with an ordinary brush (professional, not the one that comes with the kit) – it lays down in a thin layer, everything is as I thought. If you use a sponge, it will be denser on the skin. This is definitely not an option if you want to mask some of the nuances of the skin: this mineral powder only corrects the tone, mattifies. The effect is enough for about half a day.

In fact, if you take this powder out of the poor package and place it under an expensive label, I give you a guarantee – you would squeak with delight. We have some kind of historically sanctimonious attitude towards the mass market. And in vain – online products have made a big leap in quality. The only drawback of this powder is the box where the mirror is located under the powder. It was uncomfortable for me to constantly pick it out. Otherwise, no complaints.

Iloiloga: This powder honestly deserves 10 out of 10 for its quality.
