New iPad Pro 2022: aso faʻasalalau ma faʻamatalaga
Apple is likely to unveil its new iPad Pro 2022 as early as September. We tell you how it will differ from the models of previous years

With the advent of the Pro line, iPads have definitely ceased to be devices exclusively for content consumption and entertainment. Considering that the technical characteristics of the most charged versions of the iPad Pro are already comparable to the simple Macbook Air, you can fully work on them and create videos or photos.

With the purchase of an additional Magic Keyboard, the line between iPad Pro and Macbook is completely erased – there are keys, a trackpad, and even the ability to adjust the angle of the tablet.

In our material, we will look at what may appear in the new iPad Pro 2022.

iPad Pro 2022 aso fa'alauiloa i lo tatou Atunu'u

The tablet was never shown at Apple’s usual spring conference for this device. Most likely, the presentation of new items was postponed to Apple’s autumn events. which will take place in September or October 2022.

It is still problematic to name the exact release date of the new iPad Pro 2022 in Our Country, but if it is shown in the fall, then it will be bought before the New Year. Although Apple devices are not officially sold in the Federation, “gray” importers are not sitting still.

Tau iPad Pro 2022 i lo tatou Atunuu

Apple has suspended the official sale of its devices in the Federation, so it is still difficult to name the exact price of the iPad Pro 2022 in Our Country. It is likely that in the context of parallel imports and “gray” supplies, it may increase by 10-20%.

iPad Pro is produced in two versions – with a screen of 11 and 12.9 inches. Of course, the cost of the first is slightly less. Also, the cost of the tablet is affected by the amount of built-in memory and the presence of a GSM module.

In the past two generations of the iPad Pro, Apple marketers were not afraid to raise the price of devices by $100. It is assumed that buyers of the most premium Apple tablet will not be bothered by a 10-15% rise in price. Based on this, we can assume that the minimum prices for the iPad Pro 2022 will rise to $899 (for the model with a screen of 11 inches) and $1199 for 12.9 inches.

Fa'amatalaga iPad Pro 2022

The new iPad Pro 2022 will have several interesting technical changes at once. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is sure that in the sixth version of the mini-LED tablet, displays will be installed not only in an expensive, but also in a more affordable version with a screen diagonal of 11 inches.1. Such news, of course, pleases all potential buyers.

Tablets are also expected to migrate from the M1 processor to a new version of the kernel. It is not yet known whether this will be a full-fledged new numbered version or everything will be limited to a letter prefix (as is the case with the fifth generation iPad Pro). In some renders, the new iPad Pro 2022 is shown with reduced display bezels and a glass body, and it looks quite stylish.

Of course, both versions of the iPad Pro 2022 will fully support the functionality of the new iPadOS 16. Perhaps the most useful feature will be the Stage Manager application manager. It divides running programs into separate categories and combines them together.

In June 2022, already verified information appeared that Apple was preparing another version of the iPad Pro. Its main difference from the existing ones is the increased diagonal of the screen. Analyst Ross Young reports that it will be huge for a 14-inch tablet2

Of course, the display will support ProMotion and mini-LED backlighting. Most likely, this tablet will definitely work on the M2 processor. Together with the diagonal, the minimum amount of RAM and internal memory will also increase – up to 16 and 512 GB, respectively. In all other respects, the new iPad Pro will be similar to its compact counterparts.

Opinions of insiders about when the huge tablet will go on sale vary. Someone suggests that this will happen as early as September or October 2022, and someone postpones even the first presentation of the device until 2023.

Liquid Retina XDR (Apple’s commercial name for mini-LED) delivers a crisp and bright screen. Previously, it was installed only in the most expensive iPad Pro, and now it may appear in more affordable tablet configurations.

According to the latest information, Apple plans to completely abandon LCD displays in the iPad Pro and switch to OLED in 2024. And this will happen simultaneously for two versions of the tablet. By the same time, Apple may abandon FaceID and TouchID in favor of a fingerprint scanner built right into the OLED screen.3.

The diagonal of the screens of both devices will remain the same – 11 and 12.9 inches. It is understood that the owners of all iPad Pro will use only HDR content (high dynamic range) – it is with him that you can see the difference in Liquid Retina color saturation. As a rule, HDR is supported by all modern streaming services – Netflix, Apple TV and Amazon. Otherwise, the user simply will not notice the difference in the picture with the usual matrix.

Fale ma foliga vaaia

This year, you should not expect radical changes in the size of the new iPad 2022 (if you do not take into account the hypothetical model with a 14-inch screen). Perhaps this device will feature wireless charging, but for this, Apple will have to get rid of the metal case of the tablet. Most likely, part of the back cover of the tablet will be made of protected glass, which allows MagSafe charging to work.

It is possible that with the advent of wireless charging, the American company will also show a new keyboard that supports this technology.

Some renderings on the network show the appearance in the iPad Pro 2022 of a bang like in the iPhone 13. Due to this, the usable screen area may increase slightly, and all the sensors on the front panel will be hidden behind a neat and short strip at the top of the display.

Processor, manatua, fesootaiga

As we wrote above, the iPad Pro 2022 may receive a new processor of Apple’s own design – a full-fledged M2 or some modification of the M1 introduced two years ago. The M2 is expected to run on a 3nm process, which means it will be even more power efficient and performant.4

As a result, we first saw the M2 system in Apple laptops, which were announced in the summer of 2022. The 3nm processor is 20% more powerful and 10% more energy efficient than the M1. It also has the ability to increase the amount of RAM up to 24 GB LPDDR 5.

Theoretically, the new iPad Pro 2022 with an M2 processor and 24GB of RAM could be faster than the base versions of the MacBook Air.

On the other hand, chasing special powers in the iPad Pro right now makes little sense. So far, iPad OS simply cannot work properly with “heavy” applications (for example, professional photo or video editors). The rest of the software lacks the capabilities of the M1.

There is no exact information about the amount of built-in or RAM in the iPad Pro 2022 yet. It can be assumed that these parameters will remain at the same level. Given the optimization of Apple systems, 8 and 16 gigabytes of RAM will be enough for comfortable work. If the iPad Pro 2022 gets an M2 processor, then the amount of RAM will increase.

The iPad Pro 2022 may feature reverse charging with MagSafe, which was previously rumored about the iPhone 135.

Meapueata ma le piano

The 2021 version of the tablet has pretty good wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle cameras, but they are still far from the sensors that are installed in the iPhone 13. The Chinese portal Mydrivers at the end of 2021 shared possible renders of the iPad Pro 2022 – they clearly see three cameras at once6. It is quite possible that the new version of the tablet will add a telephoto lens to the “gentleman’s” set of two cameras for shooting distant objects. Of course, this is not the most necessary thing in a working tool, but you can expect everything from Apple.

A full external keyboard is one of the main features of the iPad Pro line. For $300 you get a device that turns a tablet into a real laptop. The iPad Pro 2022 will most likely support legacy Magic Keyboards, but a new keyboard model with wireless charging support should be out soon. Of course, the virtual keyboard from the device will not disappear anywhere.

iʻuga

The iPad Pro 2022 line will be a good continuation of existing models. In 2022, it probably won’t see major changes like a larger screen size, but users will welcome wireless charging or a complete transition to Liquid Retina. And the new M2 processor will make the device even more productive and increase battery life.

These are still the most expensive tablets from Apple, but they are positioned as solutions for work, so their target audience should not notice a $ 100-200 difference in price. In any case, we will know the whole truth about the new devices only after the official presentation of Apple.
