The dish with the optimistic name “Druzhba” is a porridge made from a mixture of millet and rice. Previously, “Druzhba” was prepared according to old recipes, in a hot Russian oven; today this porridge is cooked in ovens or slow cookers, which do not diminish its soft and delicate taste in the least.

How to cook Druzhba porridge: standard ingredients

To prepare this delicious and very healthy porridge, you will need: – ½ cup of rice, – ½ cup of millet, – 3 cups of milk, – 1 egg, – a piece of butter, – ½ tablespoon of granulated sugar, – ½ teaspoon of salt.

Mix rice and millet, rinse them in a bowl under cold running water, pour into a cast iron or clay pot and heat the oven to 180 degrees. Add granulated sugar, salt and butter to the cereal. Mix thoroughly.

Then add soaked rice to the millet and cook the cereals for another ten minutes.

If you wish, you can also add buckwheat to the porridge, but do not forget that buckwheat cooks faster, so you can add it a little later. It is better to refrain from adding yachka and semolina to this porridge.

Place pumpkin, millet and rice in a saucepan and cook until cooked. After the ingredients are almost ready, add ghee and cream ten minutes before turning off the stove. Ready-made porridge can be dotted in the oven and served hot.
